International shipments with GlobalFreight travel through one of our four gateways: Miami for Latin America, London and Frankfurt for Europe, and Singapore for Asia Pacific. Here is what to expect.
How an international shipment moves
After pickup or drop-off at a US hub, the shipment is routed to the gateway that serves its destination. From there it continues to the destination country, where it clears customs before final delivery. Each of those steps is recorded as a checkpoint on your tracking page.
Customs clearance
While a shipment is with customs, its status shows Customs clearance. If customs needs more information, the tracking page shows a note. Duties and taxes depend on the destination country and the goods.
Preparing your shipment
- Describe the contents accurately, including quantity and value.
- Include full receiver details with a phone number.
- Check destination restrictions before you ship.
Pricing
International lanes are quoted individually. Send us the origin, destination and weight through the Rates page, or see our gateway addresses on the Locations page.
